CARTRIDGES

The .375 Libert story

The Libert cartridge begins life as a .50 BAT, otherwise known as the .50 Cal Spotter. This round was used in conjunction with the M40 106mm Recoilless rifle, developed in the late 1950’s. The standard load, the M48A1, is an observation/tracer. The gun itself was mounted co-axially to the 106mm weapon and is designed to have the same trajectory. The idea being that a successful strike by the .50 cal will mean a first round hit by the main weapon.

The case is based on a shortened .50 BMG which we have necked down to accept one of our preferred .375 projectiles. This case is the ideal environment for the unique combination of powder and primer to achieve a ballistic performance that we feel is far superior to the standard chamberings in this weight class. Coming in lighter than a .50 Cal, but with superior velocity, we can deliver unheard of kinetics on target with accuracy surpassing the parent platform. The result is a truly unique cartridge that is destined for greatness in both competitive circles and advanced military applications.

The unique profile of this cartridge, with its .50 BMG case diameter, its shorter overall length and its elongated .375 bullet, places it squarely into the bolt-action-only realm. This not a liability, however, considering the design intent as a high-precision, extremely long-range round that utterly sacrifices all considerations of rapid autofeeding. The .375 Libert is all about accuracy at extremely long ranges. Everything else is secondary.

Our specific configurations and load data are currently proprietary as we pursue its capabilities and limitations. We will post our ongoing results on this

site. Our ultimate goal is to get this cartridge into the hands of both competitive ELR shooters and the United States military sniper units, and to clear demonstrate its ballistic superiority.

At the present time, we are gathering extremely detailed data from a number of diverese custom rifle platforms to ascertain what works and what doesn't. Over time, that data, and the accompanying equipment recommendations and configurations will be published here. We truly look forwared to discussing our project and getting feedback from the precision shooting community.
